Friendship and a cultural bond bring two Italian CEOs together for a good cause
Italian companies, TREND Group and SF Events Italy, forge an alliance to support the medical community on the front lines of the fight against Coronavirus pandemic in Italy.
April 13, 2020 – Vicenza, Italy: CEOs Andrea Di Giuseppe (TREND Group – Vicenza) & Simone Figini (SF Events Italy – Rome) collaborate to help support something dear to their hearts – protecting their home country of Italy and the medical community fighting the war against Coronavirus.
Italy has seen an unprecedented number of people affected by the virus and mortality rates grew at an alarming rate once the pandemic gripped the country in February. But even more devastating was the doctors and nurses contracting the virus and losing their lives while trying to the save lives of others.
The 20 year-old TREND Group (Vicenza), led by CEO/Co-Founder Andrea Di Giuseppe and Co- Founder/ Honorary President Dr. Pino Bizzaza, is a world leader in the production of full-bodied colored glass, Venetian smalti, and gold leaf tesserae. The company also produces a unique engineered stone (agglomerate) surface known as EtheriumTM.
Produced at TREND Group’s E-Stone manufacturing facility in Florida (USA), where Mr. Di Giuseppe is currently based, etheriumTM by E-Stone surfaces are anti-microbial, non- porous and mold and mildew -resistant which helps prevent the spread of germs. Recently the company introduced a newly enhanced antimicrobial pigment that is blended into the engineered stone providing a higher resistance to germs and bacteria making EtheriumTM the perfect surface material for use on hospital floors, walls, countertops, and bathrooms.
Long-time friends, Di Giuseppe and Figini decided they wanted to help those in Italy battling the Coronavirus and quickly developed a plan of action. Figini used his business relationships throughout Italy to connect with some of the important medical institutions in the country, and Di Giuseppe began working with his manufacturing company to prepare the antimicrobial EtheriumTM surfaces for donation to these hospitals to be used in public areas providing a more germ-free environment for staff and patients.
Thanks to the involvement and support of the Veneto Region, Governor Luca Zaia has announced that ULSS Berica and Hospital San Bortolo of Vicenza, ULSS Euganea of Padova and Azienda Ospedaliera Università Integrata of Verona will each receive a donation of EtheriumTM surfaces valued at €100.000,00.
“I’m overwhelmed by this gracious donation and can’t find the words to express my gratitude. I want to extend my thanks for the great opportunity to collaborate with such an important company like TREND Group. Even though Mr. Di Giuseppe is based in the USA his heart is in Italy, in our beloved Vicenza. This operation represents a very strong message showing the unity of Italians worldwide, who always come to the support of our country no matter where they are. Italy always remains within our hearts and this is evident in this time of need.” states Roberto Cattaneo, Communal Counsellor Forza Italia Vicenza.
“We would like to first and foremost thank TREND Group and SF Events Italy for this praiseworthy initiative. We are honoured that they have chosen ULSS and Hospital San Bortolo as the beneficiaries of such a generous donation.”, states Tiziano Zenere, Administrative Director ULSS8 Berica
All parties involved are already taking the required steps to proceed with the production, shipment and delivery of the etheriumTM surfaces which will be used throughout these hospitals to cover public areas, counters, bathrooms, etc. in order to help increase hygienic conditions and protect medical staff, operators and patients.
Antimicrobial agents are used in numerous industries including the medical, consumer personal products, agricultural and industrial sectors. In the production of EtheriumTM, the product provides an environment that helps prevent the growth of bacteria. Antimicrobial-treated surfaces can suppress the growth of microorganisms and limit the transmission of harmful bacteria. This helps reduce exposure to various germs lowering the risk for infection.
SPECIAL MENTION:
SF Events Italy dedicates their contribution to this important project in loving memory of Mrs. Agostina Cavalli, who sadly passed away due to the Coronavirus in March. Her memory, along with the many others who were tragically affected by the pandemic, will never be forgotten.
