The Colosseum Archaeological Park was created as an autonomous MiBACT Institute in 2017 and includes the Flavian Amphitheater, the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, the Domus Aurea on the Oppian Hill, the Arch of Constantine and the Meta Sudans in the Colosseum. With more than 7 million visitors in 2017, the site is among the most visited in the world and the first in Italy. The park preserves and enhances some of the most important archaeological remains in the history of Western civilization, from the end of the Bronze Age to the contemporary age. Roman Forum Largo della Salara Vecchia 5/6, located between the slopes of the Capitol, the Esquiline and the Palatine, the Roman Forum preserves the most significant evidence of the political and religious history of the ancient city. A symbol of the city and a heritage of humanity simply not to be missed.
