FORUM MUSIC VILLAGE – Historic Recording Studios Guided Tours

“Forum Music Village” is a recording studio located in Rome, Italy. It was founded by Ennio Morricone, Armando Trovajoli, Luis Bacalov and Piero Piccioni in 1969.

In Forum Music Village were recorded some of the most famous soundtracks in the history of film music such as “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”, “Once Upon a Time in America“, “The Godfather“, “Deep Red “, “Cinema Paradiso“, “The Legend of 1900“, plus the Oscar winning ”Life is Beautiful” and “The Postman”.

Today, as the most prestigious recording studio in Italy, Forum Music Village continues to host the greatest interpreters of film music and international music, such as Bruce Springsteen, 2 Cellos, John Legend, will.i.am, Jon Bon Jovi, Morrissey, Quincy Jones, Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Guided Tours & Musical Workshops

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its foundation, the Forum Music Village opens its doors with visits inside the studios!

The visit will consist in a Guided Tour followed by Musical Workshops.

The Guided Tour will provide:

visit of the recording rooms, including the historic “Sala A”;
projection of a short documentary about the history of the studios;

At the end of the Guided Tours, it will be possible to attend a short Musical Workshop in which the musicians from the “Orchestra Italiana del Cinema” that had played in the original sessions will perform some pieces that have been recorded within the studios.

The Workshops are:

“Strings at the Movies“: 30′ concert with string quartet with selections from “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly“, “Cinema Paradiso” and many more;
“Percussions at the Movies“: short musical performance with the original instruments used in the recordings;
“Commedia all’italiana Soundtracks“: the most beautiful music of the great Italian comedy films such as “The Great War“, “Big Deal on Madonna Street“, “We all loved each other so much“.
